Installation and connection

  Installation and connection
1  Installation

uStandard installation method: Use the bearing house at shaft output end as radial positioning.  Use the steel housing end face as the axial positioning. Use the tapping holes on the mounting surface to fasten the motor. Please refer to Product Specification signed by both sides if the installation method is different from above.

uPlease note the length of fastening screw (refer to Product specification). When it is too long it will interfere with or damage the rotor. If it is too short the installation strength will be weakened. Screwing torque also needs to be validated. With too large force you will get slipped screws. With too small torque you will not install the motor to the right position.

uDon’t use vent holes for installation purpose unless otherwise agreed.

uBe careful not to distort or damage the motor during installation..

3  Electrical connection

uMotor is usually connected to the power supply by power cord. When soldering the power cord to the terminals, be sure to finish your work quickly so as not to develop thermal plastic deformation around the motor terminals. Special care must be taken not to allow solder debris and flux to spatter into motors and cause motor fail to work.

uTo satisfy customers’ EMC requirement, we will need to apply capacitors between the terminals and the motor housing or apply chokes at terminal side. Please be careful with the choice of withstanding voltage of capacitors and inductance of the chokes. Please consult EPsales engineers if necessary.

uPlease make sure the capacity of power supply and the cross-sectional area of the lead wire match the motor load.
